Introduction of China Urban Public Transport
Association (CUPTA)
Foundedin July 1993, China Urban Public Transport Association (CUPTA)
is under the administration of China's Ministry of Construction and registered
by the Ministry of Civil Administration. Currently with more than 200 members
and headquartered in Beijing, CUPTA is a national wide association of urban
public transport operators and enterprises.
Objectives
CUPTA promotes the undertaking of governmental policies and assists performing
administrative works of governmental branches. It helps to maintain it's
members' interest, broaden communication among members and provides them
with services in various ways. CUPTA aims to act as a bridge between enterprises
and governmental administrative branches, and to promote the development
of China's urban public transportation.
Tasks
1. Reflect members' opinion to governmental administrative branches, assist
carrying out public transport policies and give recommendation for researches.
2. Collect and analyze fundamental information of foreign public transport
enterprises in the field of operation and management, in order to provide
ground for government policy makers when setting up regulations and laws.
3. Generalize, exchange and promote the spread of experiences and research
results in public transport field, such as operation, management, technology,
education and reform.
4. Develop consultation service, provide information, and organize promotion
of new outcomes.
5. Carry out training service.
6. Edit association's publication and information data.
7. Participate international organizations on behalf of China's urban public
transport enterprises, organize and develop international cooperation and
communication.
8. Undertake works consigned by it's administrative authority and members.
